There’s a gap for those who want to honor the tradition while making more conscious choices—materials that tell the story, but are environmentally sustainable, ethically sourced, and presented in a modern, neutral way.

White sage and palo santo are sacred plants used in Indigenous North and South American spiritual practices. Overharvesting to meet global demand has caused environmental strain and threatens Indigenous access, while widespread use outside cultural contexts is considered appropriation.
Lavender, in contrast, has a long history of use across many cultures for purification, healing, and spiritual focus, including in modern pagan and Wiccan practices, without being tied to a specific sacred tradition. It is sustainably cultivated and can be used respectfully for cleansing rituals without the ethical or environmental concerns associated with sage or palo santo.
